About Us

Citizens Advice is an independent network that helps people resolve their money, legal, family, consumer and other problems.

We provide information and advice and influences government and organizations to bring about change in policies and laws.

Our advice is provided free, it is independent, confidential, impartial and available to everyone.

All of our advisers are volunteers and are fully trained to a very high standard, working at over 3,200 service outlets throughout the country.

This unique position enables us to be an influential and powerful voice, in representing the UK to the country's policy-makers and service providers.

The Citizens Advice service touches millions of people's lives, in thousands of ways. We help people resolve their problems through two approaches: by offering free advice and by initiating campaigns for policy change. We make a positive impact on individuals and the communities in which they live and nearly half the public has used a Citizens Advice service at some stage in their lives. Because every Citizens Advice is an independent charity. We rely on the support of people like you.

"I was desperate and had contemplated taking my own life. My debt problem was the first and last thing I would think of. I had no hope for the future. Things are better for me now, I have secured full-time employment and the Citizens Advice service has negotiated an acceptable repayment schedule that I am confident I can maintain" Kate, Citizens Advice client
